This morning was the final presentation for Studio: Payne. That was one of the toughest ten week sessions of my life. We were not able to finish the project until the very last second: literally screwing the wall brackets into the wall under the watchful eyes of some of the members of the jury. The model was placed on the wall, and I was then able to collapse as the stress and anxiety was purged from my bones. One must remember though, a presentation is still upcoming. The graphics, model and text framed the design completely. This works excellently when it is standing alone, but not so well when I am being questioned by the jury. Well, that and a minimal amount of sleep. Often, when questioned, I felt overconfident that the inquiry had been answered, or could have been answered with further investigation into the visual materials. It took a little wake up call in the midst of the criticisms from Mr. Payne, to snap me out of it. It may have been too late. <continued> |
