Round two of SSXtreme. The momentum has collected, and everything is moving at full speed now. Strangely, I feel good. I was having some difficulties with the digital model. While trying to preserve construction history through all of the copies, I tangled the project into a massive knot. Much to my surprise and delight, the group selected my design as the option to move forward. I am excited about it. I think the project has many potentials, and plenty of tangents to be explored. It will definitely keep our collective hands full until May. Studio is back in full swing. We are working through many different angles at once. This keeps us busy, and keeps me interested. I would like to explore the infusion of these form finding, digitally driven design methodologies with urban techniques. Many people view the digital techniques to be scaleless. I certainly work through much of it with little concern for scale -particularly early- as I believe scale works on a slider. This opens for adaptability to many disparate conditions. <continued> |
