Okay, fun and games at the theatre are all over. Early this morning was a good time to shift back into the mode of devising beautiful graphics for a not so distant end to this affair. We have found several reasons for steering automobile traffic into our site, rather than the heart of the city. It is quicker. We like speed. There can be a new flux in programme in the area. People need purpose. A connection to the airport can be easier and immediate. High speed rail line to the heart of Europe. Distance traveled may be increased, but speed is also increase. Time is decreased. That is the key factor. In the meantime, an over congested downtown is leveled with new development occurring along a spine of patterned growth. The automobile is taken out of the core. There are too many in the area. The very idea of a core is adjusted to a node. One important piece of a network. The core of the city is not replaced. It is supported. And in order for that city to grow, it needs support. <continued> |
