Thom midterm day. The jury was made up of an older guard. This is different from many of my past experiences here at Perloff. Usually, I am working with the young gun crew. The discussion started to break down along formal lines, as we feared. Still, I felt it was one of the best presentation and comment sessions we have had on this project. Clearly, we are beginning to nail the critical issues and hot topics. As I mentioned, form comes against intelligence. And, that separation of design processes has become one of my primary focuses since arriving at UCLA and taking on the Spectacle of Transparency course. Now, I think to some level the design at this phase has been very intuitive. Yet, there are still many cues built into the basis of most of the decisions. The next step is to discover the pertinent cues and continue to exploit them to our benefit. As for the nonsensical stuff -dump it to the side and chalk it up to the process of this unfamiliar monster. <continued> |
