Can affect be diagrammed? I have been thinking about this issue for an upcoming Michael Speaks essay. It seems the troops are separated along this idea of the diagram, with all its wonderful ease of understanding and approachability by the unintelligible client, and affect. But what exactly is affect? That is the problem here. We can barely even define the term, how can it be expected to be executed? Though, some people seem to think UN Studio is bridging this gap between BIG.dk and Electroland. Okay, I know those are a bit vague in terms of definitive examples of the camps. We all know the two big names that are supposedly leading these camps, I will not mention them right now. The effectiveness of the diagram cannot be argued. Financial and programmatic sense. I take note of the ordering of those advantages. However, affect suggests architecture has the strength to act physically or emotionally on its subjects.
