Last of the components have been milled. Vacuum forming marathon begins. The other night I did some major surfcamming and milked my brain for as much as I could get out of it. I felt like I was bouncing from one near collision to another. A little bit of experience can go a long way when one needs to flip off the switch. Still, I nearly completely ruined one mold by sliding the finish cut over an inch on the X axis from the rough cut. Luckily, this mainly only did a number on the corresponding draft angle, which can be fixed with duct tape and some scrap foam. Now, we have massive stacks of molds, all needing preparation. Wrapping, holing, pulling, fixing, ABS'ing, oh the joy of redundant labors! But, that is all for someone else, mostly. I need to figure out some way to create a forgiving system of connection for these forms to connect to the walls in the window box. <continued> |
