Sundays and Saturdays are tough. Obviously there is a lot of work to do. But, it has also been a long year, and each week presents a series of relentless challenges that inevitably lead to an energy debt. So, I typically take this day to steal a little rest. Stupidly, this rest is usually just sleep or boob tube. If I were smarter, I would make the most of my time to do something more exciting. Back to the battle lines. Flip open the machine and get back into the wall design. I am struggling with finding ways to get the geometry to subtly shift directions to absorb moves of the components' lattices. This challenge would be considerably less difficult if I were afforded material that had a depth greater than four inches. As it is, four inches is the hand dealt with the budget. Much of the challenge of this project has been managing the budget and ensuring the project is affordable for our shallow pockets. Another degree of responsibility. <continued> |
