One of the many frustrating things to happen on the periphery of this project is a shop shutdown only days before the opening. I understand the school needs to use the shop for some kind of fund raising meeting. It makes me question the priorities of the new administration. It would have been nice to hear word from the top, instead of filtered messages from the bottom. I get the feeling potential students are more important than the work happening right now. The scope of this project is unmatched in terms of the technology seminars, and probably will ultimately be the end of a nice stretch in experimentation. The show must go on. Adding to the absurd amount of customization in this project, several of the pieces need to be uniquely heat formed by hand. This is another one of those steps we have avoided. I finally got on it, and it is finished. I am disappointed with the effect heat forming had on the veins. Hundreds of feet of tubing needed sanding. <continued> |
