Speaks, what the hell is this whole dutch thing? I have a class this quarter that I do not speak of often. The Dutch Touch. For the most part we spend our time studying all thing dutch. Which is great in its simplicity and lack of false social security. I despise that. If a woman wants to openly sell herself for sex, let it be. I do not like this idea of protecting people from themselves. Let them piss their lives away on narcotics, booze, rock and roll, etc. From my distant point of view, the dutch seem to embrace such ideas of individuality. A long stretch of stalls are aligned on the side of a wall. Each, a place to park a bicycle and fuck a prostitute. That purity of instantaneous resolve of spontaneous desire somehow gets translated to the architecture. It is stripped of ambiguity. An idea can be translated into a building in a way everybody can find of use. The architecture elite may scoff at this concept. <continued> |
