The morning begins with a burst of pain. A malfunctioning eyeball. Sleep may be the solution to this problem. That is the logic. In the evening, I decided to do some research of this second life world. My interest extends from an idea that second life is not a mere extension of first life, here, but instead a replacement of first life. And, as such, many of its inhabitants would opt to replace first life with second life. My feeling is, eventually, this will be possible. Now, there is a disruption in the form of interface. The keyboard, screen and mouse block a user from totally immersing themselves into second life. However, the combination of will to disconnect and imagination lessen the effect of the separation. For me, the gap is large. For others, not so. Perhaps, the psyche of the inhabitants can be evaluated in an extremely superficial, generic way. That is not the interest. The willingness is obviously there. If there were an option, a choice could be made. So now, how is the option developed. -And, what is the new form of architecture that emerges? |
