Some second life studies continued into today. I found a blog online. The blogger was (presumably) a young lady who had just entered her second life a couple of months ago. Yet, she has completely attached herself to it. I read a few postings, then decided to enter second life to see if I could find her. To my surprise, I did. I learned many strange things about that world. First, it is a viable option. People want to make lives there. People want to permanently transfix themselves there. Several different places, land blocks compose one massive universe. Yes, much of it is Greek and shit. Another section of smaller places are disparant chunks of imagination. But that is what it is all based on. Imagination, and an ability to do so. Here, one can be anything. But, anything is furthest from the reality of second life. People are actually closer to themselves than ever before. Why be anything when one can be one's self? |
