Shoot. Tonight I was elected (volunteered) to be the milling watch dog. The idea was to try to mill and vacuum form our piece for Friday's Manifest Destiny class as soon as possible. The afternoon was spent trying to model the piece and get it to work somewhat in digital space. Then, we had to tussle around a bit with the licenses on the surfcam programs -that was a nightmare. Finally, the project made its way to the mill, where it is presently routing out the beautiful surfaces. Perhaps, they could be labeled “Emergent”. However, that term may be a little ahead of me. I feel it is too lofty at this stage of the project, and maybe beyond the numbers on the current measuring stick of my ability. That is why I came here to study. So, it looks like the milling is halfway complete with the final cut. That puts me home in about sixty to seventy-five minutes: 5a. Cook dinner. Eat. Sleep. Back by 11a? The day has been productive. I feel like I have learned quite a bit today. <continued>
