The symbiosis of axiomatic reality and virtuality.
Today, a physical barrier between the analogue and digital realms exists. Access to the Internet is dependent of a communication interface. This interface translates commands from a human operator to a series of ones and zeros. A digital Morse code. The machine executes the command, receives information, and translates this to the language of the operator. The operator's experience is constricted to the device's electronic display surface. A connection to the digiscape is completely reliant of analogue means. Fingers. Eyes. Today.

Virilio explains three interval typologies: Space, time, and light. The light interval: “instantaneous control of the microphysical environment thanks to the new tools of telecommunications.” Instantaneous control is still delayed through the transfer of thought to interface to destination to interface to thought. The interface is a veritable middle man. But, what happens tomorrow? Can the analogue interface be removed from the telecommunication equation? Humans will be permanently linked into the digital construct.

Mechanical parts are utilized in support, or ultimately in place of biological parts. A pacemaker is programmed to operate a heart. A robotic arm is grafted to an amputee. Human life expectancy is extended through these cybernetics. Only, not human, cyborg. Eventually, the organic body is consummately infused with cybernetics. Limbs, organs, genitals: all machine based replicas of the original. Still, humanity is retained. The source of guidance keeps the machines human. The mind.

The mind is mapped. The amputee's new arm has a central processing unit. The CPU collects and articulates commands sent along the central nervous system into movements. The external interface is removed. Direct translation of command results in action by the terminal destination of the thought. The CPU actualizes with a built in translator. Later, the translator is eradicated as the CPU's heuristic operation is harmonized with the map of the human mind. However, this is just the first step.

The map of a mind can be read externally, edited, duplicated, or deleted. Uploaded. Humanity is synonymous with thought. In the middle, a physical embodiment is an afterthought, a limitation. Bodies will be appropriated to the rejects of digital civilization. Conversely (but typical), in the end, bodies will become the property of the privileged. Rewind. In the beginning, bodies will be exercised as mind vessels. People will trade bodies according to need in the analogue world. In this way, a person can move from New York City to Tokyo in a matter of nano-seconds. Digital networks as worm holes. Here, Virilio described the physical reality as a suburb to the virtuality. This process becomes superfluous and over-expends precious energy. Crossover from virtuality to physical reality becomes rare. Image is based on personal perception and is not necessarily based on human form. Human interrelations continue to exist. Sex is digital. Procreation is an equation based on an advanced assimilation of digital genetics. Digital viruses replace biological viruses and are equally destructive. Trogan=flu. Death is deletion.

The first humans to transcend this physical reality will be the gods of a new age. It is a race.
